June plum juice is one of my favourite fruit juices. It has a tangy taste but still very refreshing, perfect for the hot Jamaican weather.

It is very simple and easy to make with just a few ingredients.
The June plum fruit have oval like shape with green skin when the fruit is not fully ripe and golden yellow when it is.
The fruit can be eaten both when it is green or fully ripe.
When ripe the June plum is sweet with a hint of lime just under the skin.

Like most fruits in Jamaica, the June plum is mostly eaten raw.
But is it also used to make June plum stew, jam, jelly or a refreshing juice like I did in this post.

You may use either ripe or green June plums.
I used green one for this recipe but I do prefer ripe June plums because are sweeter.
This June plum drink not only taste great, it is also full of vitamin C, vitamin A and vitamin K.
It is also rich in calcium, iron and is a great antioxidant. So I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to try the recipe.
