Jamaican Peanut Porridge
Learn how to make peanut porridge with this simple recipe.
- ½ cup Raw peanut
- 2 cups Coconut Milk
- ½ Cup Plain Flour
- ¼ tsp Grated nutmeg
- 1 Cinnamon stick Or cinnamon leaf or ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Vanilla
- ⅛ tsp salt
- 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 cup water
- Condensed milk
Add the peanuts, plain flour, and coconut milk to the blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
Add 1 cup of water to a pot, the salt and cinnamon stick or leaf (if you are using ground cinnamon, add later), bring to a boil on medium heat.
Pour in the blended peanut and stir (whisk) continuously until the porridge start thicken.
Let the porridge cook for 10 to 15 minutes then add the vanilla and nutmeg
Sweeten to taste with the sugar and condensed milk
- oatmeal can replace the plain flour
