Jamaican crispy plantain chips recipe

A great way to get the children excited about cooking. Get them to help you make this plantain chips recipe. Simple, quick and taste great.

  • 3 Green plantain
  • 1 ½ tsp Salt
  • Oil
  • tsp Cayenne pepper
  • tsp Paprika


  • Peel the plantain and chop it up into thin slices.
  • In a large enough kitchen blow at the slice plantain and sprinkle the seasoning all over it. Mix well so that the slices are all coated well with the seasoning.
  • Pour the oil in a frying pan (enough oil so that it plantain is swimming in it) at medium heat and let it hot.
  • In batches, fry the plantain chips until golden brown. This won't take long since the slices are thin so keep a eye on them while they fry.
  • When the batch are finish leave to cool and serve your tasty plantain chips. 


Eat on its own or with your favourite dip.
